I think that first person view is better for this story. It makes the story more exiting. It also makes the story look real. When Rachel was going along the path and the ox was chewing on the bushes, it looked like it was really happening. It also makes the story more interesting.
I and also understand more about how the characters in the story feel. It makes me have more sympathy for the characters in the story. For example, when Rachel couldn’t go into the paths again, I felt sorry for her. Likewise, when Will was stuck on the sandbank trying to rescue his horse, I also felt bad for him. In fact, I can have lots of emotions for them in this story.
I also like the illustrations in the story. The illustrations show the events that are happening in the story. Rachel can also reflect on events. For example, when Rachel was crossing the river and when she met the ox chewing on the bushes.
I think the journal format is better for this story than the narrative format.
