My best vacation ever was when my mom, my dad, and I went to Harbin. I started when it was summer vacation. I got home after the last day of school and my dad just came out of his room and said “Let’s go to Harbin!” We thought it was a good idea and agreed. Harbin was a cold place and we were getting annoyed at the hot weather in Shenzhen.
My dad walked into his room, proud of his idea. He sat down on his chair and opened his computer to get our plane tickets to go to Harbin. The nest day, we packed up our stuff and got a taxi to drive us to the airport. We boarded the plane and waited six hours to get to Harbin. The second we got out of the plane, a gust of cold wind hit us and we got out our jackets to put on. I looked around and could see others doing the same.
We got on a bus and got to a hotel to spend the night in. The next day, we got out of bed and brushed out teeth. We sat on the beds (There were two beds in the room) and watched T.V. There was an advertisement on the T.V talking about a large frozen river. My dad said that it was only a few miles from the hotel. The advertisement also said that there were lots of fun activities on the frozen river.
After we ate breakfast at the hotel, got a taxi and went to the frozen river. We wanted to check it out. As soon as we got to the river we could see hundreds of people walking around the street. After five minutes of walking through a crowd, we got to the river. We were relieved that the squeezing and pushing was over, but once we looked at the river, we could only see people, people, and more people.
We decided that we will come back tomorrow and hopefully, there won’t be so many people. We stayed in Harbin for a week, and their were fewer people at the frozen river. We also visited a place where there were large structures built only by ice. Their were doorways in them so that we could walk inside them. Some chunks of ice had a light bulb in it so that it won’t be dark inside. When it was time to go back to Shenzhen, i didn’t want to leave. This was truly the best vacation ever.
